For years Belfast has been known as the place that is full of crime and a dangerous place to stay, however before cancelling those plans that a person has to stay in the area, they should realize that new reports show that Belfast is just as dangerous as any other place. Meaning that there are a few places that people need to pay attention, and there are a few things that the person needs to know, but they are relatively safe when they are staying in the city. The Center of Belfast is one of the safest areas in all of Belfast since everything is right there, including local law enforcement. However, with that being said during the night the person needs to still be on their toes, which is going to apply to any area of Belfast that they visit and make sure that they stay in well lit areas.
The West area of Belfast is one that is deemed as safe during the day. Though the attractions that people would come to the area are going to want to be avoided during the night since there is not much adequate lighting around the area for the person to feel particularly safe in. The South area of Belfast is where most students are, and is considered one of the safest areas to visit since most students make sure that they keep everything in check. Of course, there is going to be the occasional scuffle outside of a bar, but that can be expected anywhere that a person visits. Though in the South area, people are going to find that they are going to be able to walk around at night without the fears that they may feel in other areas.
One of the best pieces of advice that someone can take with them when they are staying in Belfast accommodation and want to remain safe is to never, ever make a comment about the politics in the area. If they do, they never know who is around and who may take offense to what they are saying, which is the reason that some violence breaks out in the first place. Thus, keep political opinions to yourself and enjoy your time in Belfast. You will find that most people in the area are going to be really friendly and are going to be more than willing to sit down and have a chat with you.
